I don’t often write here about issues that aren’t related to my book Inheriting the Trade and the film of our journey Traces of the Trade. Today’s topic, Laughter Yoga, might seem a far stretch.
It isn’t.
Dealing with relationships, health, economic struggles and other challenges life presents–yes, even including the impacts of racism, the legacy of slavery, and other forms of oppression–can be sobering and difficult. Finding joy and humor in challenging times and situations can help.
I’ve been friends with Lydia Gonzalez for more than 25 years. She has always been a source of humor-filled inspiration. Now the AARP has put this short video clip on their website about Lydia’s work with laughter and deep breathing and its positive health benefits.
I trust that it will bring a smile–and perhaps a laugh–to your face (tee hee)…
